I think one virtue of moving between countries is an appreciation for little tokens and memories. Small, easily-packed but vital objects are much more fulfilling to me now, compared to when I was steadily growing an apartment full of knickknacks and miscellany. Don't get me wrong: I still live in a very cluttered home and I could certainly do with a good clear-out of my closet. But I am much better at saying 'I don't need that.' Not perfect, but improving.
These socks were started ages ago, but a recent bout of finishitis saw to their completion. Perhaps there isn't too much room in my life for hand-knitted socks, since I've moved to a much warmer climate, but I still enjoy them. Little personalized displays of creativity.

Those are very nice looking socks :). I've always been jealous of people who knit socks. I may give it a try one of these days, but I'm not really liking the double pointed needles and I did knit a pair of tube socks (no heel to turn), but with all the wonderful looking socks it pulls on me to give it another try :P. 3/2/2015 01:43:12 am
I converted from DPs to knitting my socks on a single circular needle and it made the process much, much easier for me. The technique is called 'magic loop' which makes it sound much more difficult than it actually is - it's really very straightforward! It's great for sleeves and mittens, too. Comments are closed.
