It's raining today - a true oddity in June, in such a drought-ridden, arid state. The damp, combined with the summer heat, reminds me more of Florida than Edinburgh, but I can't help feeling like this weather system is begging for me to knit. Is it the rhythm of raindrops on palm fronds outside my window, reminding me of the click-clack of metal needles in action? Or the skies gray like the wool of rain-drenched sheep on the hill? Whatever the reason, I'm very happy to spend this warm, wet, June day with a skein of acrylic yarn running along my bare legs, sipping hot tea between breaks to fan my face.
